Choose for the movement on the lane.

Training turf can be part of a gym lane, recreational practice area or multipurpose fitness layout. Identify the activity, footwear and equipment before discussing a product. A surface for movement drills may have different requirements from a lane used with loaded equipment.

Equipment, clearances and the subfloor.

  • Describe equipment use, direction of movement and expected intensity.
  • Measure clearances around lanes, walls, doors and fixed equipment.
  • Discuss the subfloor, underlay and any required performance testing.

Draw the activity and circulation zones.

Supply dimensions for the active training area and adjacent circulation. Ask whether markings are needed and how the surface would meet other flooring. Compatibility and attachment must be assessed against both the product and the existing floor.

Is every artificial turf suitable for sled work?

No. Equipment use must be checked against the proposed product and its installation requirements. Provide the equipment type and intended loading for review.
