Plan for artificial turf care
Artificial turf still needs attention. Build a practical routine around your product, drainage and everyday use.

Get the written care instructions
Ask for the manufacturer’s care instructions for the exact turf and any infill or underlay. Confirm suitable tools, cleaning products and maintenance frequency. Keep these instructions with your warranty. A residential landscape, an event surface and a sports system may require different routines.
Keep the surface and drainage clear
Remove litter and loose debris regularly using the methods approved for your product. Check for damaged edges, lifted seams and blocked drainage points. Report problems before they become larger repairs. Ask whether brushing or infill maintenance is required for your particular system and who should carry it out.
Plan pet cleaning from the start
Remove solid waste promptly and follow the supplier’s cleaning and rinsing instructions. Make sure your cleaning plan accounts for access to water and the drainage beneath the surface. Confirm compatible cleaning products before use. Turf does not remove the need for routine pet hygiene.
Prepare for seasons and special use
Ask the supplier how to manage leaves, snow and ice without damaging the surface, backing or edges. Confirm restrictions around heat sources, furniture and concentrated loads. For rental turf, agree on venue protection, cleaning responsibilities and return conditions before the event. Review the routine when the use or traffic level changes.
